The COUPLE celebrated with a CARNIVAL-Themed baby shower for baby Laiyah in Atlanta at super producer, Jermaine Dupri's home!  GET MORE of Monica's BABY SHOWER after the JUMP! "It was very whimsical, just like a Disney princess movie and just as I had envisioned it," Monica told PEOPLE of the all pink fete. "There was so much love in the room and everybody had a great time." A white horse named Rock Star and a white pony named Lil' Man greeted close to 200 guests, including Ludacris, Nene and Greg Leakes and Keri Hilson.      |
| #MTV #VMA's REVIEW! THE GOOD THE BAD and the UGLY! Posted: 26 Aug 2013 10:50 PM PDT  THE VMA's TOOK OVER BROOKLYN'S Barclay Center on Sunday and as usual, MTV pulled out ALL THE STOPS!! But was it a SLAM DUNK?? Let's BREAK IT DOWN, SHALL WE?? First, MTV ever year puts on one HELL of a SHOW. PUTTING TOGETHER a show of this magnitude is quite an undertaking so for that I will say that's definitely a 'GOOD'! ALSO the MASSIVE RED CARPET LAYOUT leading up to the Barclay's Center was IMPRESSIVE! They really TOOK OVER the streets of BROOKLYN so that was 'GOOD'. Now let's get to the NOT SO GOOD STUFF!!  I have several 'BADS'. First of all, being that we were in BROOKLYN the place where hip hop LIVES, where was the HIP-HOP on the SHOW?? Sure, Drake performed...for like 2 minutes... and that is HIP-HOP but really. When in BK, and you have NO PERFORMANCES from Jay-Z, Diddy, or Nicki Minaj??? Were they even THERE? Also, Macklemore, while no disrespect to the music, IS NOT HIP-Hop! Oh, I forgot, Lil' Kim made an APPEARANCE looking like a cross between a old Asian woman and a cheetah. STOP IT. Also my another 'BAD' was Kevin Harts vignettes. Although Kevin is funny, we know this, His JOKES FELL FLAT. Taking JABS at WHITE FOLKS 'idols' didn't seem to go over that well with the WHITE FOLKS. That type of self-depricating humor would go WELL at say...the BET Awards. The WHITE PEOPLE, ain;t TRYING to hear you DOWN their FAVES! Another BAD was some of the winners. HOW on EARTH did Macklemore beat DRAKE and Kendrick Lamar in a HIP-HOP category? And One Direction over Robin Thicke for 'Song of the Summer'?? C'MON!!???  My 'UGLY' and it's not really MINE, but I got a few email about Miley Cyrus' behavior. I personally was entertained by her RATCHETNESS! I feel she can shake her PUUTANNNG all over the stage, but she did go a bit OVERBOARD at times to the point of looking DESPERATE. Keep twerking Miley, but just pull it back a tad. We see you.  I must say, Justin Timberlake PERFORMED well!! I was THOUROUGHLY entertained by him and the REUNION of N'Sync. But JT, you could've given the guys a little longer screen time. I know they were a bit WINDED from the time they DID have, but hey, they've GOTTEN FAT, it takes more energy these days. Also, JT is GREAT... but the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is for the BEST in GROUNDBREAKING VIDEOS. I just didn't see where JT's solo vids have been THAT groundbreaking to get the MJ award. JUST MY OPINION. ALSO another BAD, was the house dj for the night, DJ CASSIDY. Who was he. And in BK why not get DJ CLUE or Funkmaster Flexx or ANYBODY that has HIP-HOP tracks to spin!! This was the MTV awards and we know they have to cater to all segments of POP CULTURE, but if you want REAL HIPHOP, consult some real HIP HOPPERS next time. Not a few 'WAYNE BRADY-ESQUE advisers on the panel, but some REAL BLACK PEOPLE so you will know what is REAL HIP-HOP.  But Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry had great sets as well as Kanye. MMLP2 is the sequel to his 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP features "Survival" (above), which was previously shared as a track from the upcoming video game Call of Duty: Ghosts.
