The posts today will spotlight some of my favorite throwback jams. Back when the economy was good and music was even better! LET'S GO!! THROWBACK THURSDAY is OFFICIALLY ON DECK!!!!!! LET's GO BACK TO 'Long Lost R&B MALE Singers'!!! Michael Speaks, originally from Charlotte North Carolina, had an impressive multi-octave voice. Speaks released his first album No Equal in 1995, and a second album, Praise At Your Own Risk in 2000. He has worked with Adina Howard, Sa-Deuce, Trinity-5-7, and Mary Mary during the 1990s and 2000s.  Michael Speaks-'Whatever you need In 1997, Salter had his chance in music when his demo tape found its way into the hands of L.A. Reid of LaFace Records. He quickly signed Salter, and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds began to work on his debut album, It's On Tonight. The album didn't become a huge hit, yet it yielded two hit R&B singles, the Top 20 single "After 12, Before 6" and the Top 40 ballad "There You Are." In 2000, Little Black Book, Salter's second album for LaFace Records was expected to be released, yet label shuffling and problems led to the album's shelving. It yielded one single, "Once My Shit (Always My Shit)". An album track from the LP, "Color Of Love", written by Babyface, was later given to Boyz II Men for their first Arista release, Full Circle and it became the lead single. Additionally, a track that was only available on the album sampler (not the advance version) titled "Homewrecker" was later given to Sisqó, and included his Return of Dragon LP. (Sisqó's 2000 hit Incomplete was also originally recorded - but unreleased - by Salter). Damn, seems like Sam got the shaft--twice! Carey just DUMPED longtime friend and fellow 'American Idol' judge, Randy Jackson as her manager!!!! Get the DETAILS after the JUMP  BYE BYE Randy Jackson, Mariah has LEFT YOU ALONE! Carey has decided to DUMP Randy as her manager! Jackson, who first met Carey in the 1990s as an A&R man for Columbia Records, helped broker her deal to join "Idol" for $18 million, but after a tumultuous season marred by disagreements, feuds and rumors, he may be saying goodbye to his fellow judge as well as his former client, Showbiz411 reported Wednesday (May 8). There aren't many more episodes of 'Idol' left, so I am sure there won't be any on-camea awkwardness that WE see. And it's a pretty sure bet that since Mariah is launching a new album in the coming months and her lackluster performance as judge and mentor on 'Idol', she is likely NOT to return for a 2nd run. It will probably be announced after the 'Idol' finale whether or not she will return. If she does, I am sure she will only do so if the money is RIGHT and if Nick Minaj EXITS stage RIGHT. Around the WEB we find that the owner of a Cleveland home where three women were rescued from a decade in captivity has been charged with kidnapping and rape, but his brothers had nothing to do with the case, authorities announced Wednesday.  Ariel Castro, a 52-year-old former school bus driver, has been charged with three counts of rape and four counts of kidnapping, City Chief Assistant Prosecutor Victor Perez said. Castro was arrested Monday, along with his brothers, Pedro Castro, 54, and Onil Castro, 50. But investigators have found no evidence that the brothers were involved in the abductions of Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus or knew they were held in their brother's house, Perez and Deputy Police Chief Ed Tomba told reporters.  "Ariel kept everybody at a distance," Tomba said. The three women and a 6-year-old daughter Berry gave birth to while in captivity were freed Monday after neighbors heard Berry calling for help. Knight had been missing since 2002, Berry since 2003 and DeJesus since 2004. They have told investigators they left Castro's house only twice during their captivity, Tomba said: "They left the house and went into the garage in disguise."  Knight, now 32, remained in a Cleveland hospital in good condition, but Berry and DeJesus returned to their homes Wednesday.  Jurors will next have to decide whether Arias lives or dies. "Now the odds, I think shift somewhat in her favor, because it's a very different thing to sentence someone to die than to convict them," CNN senior legal analyst Jeffery Toobin said after the verdict was read on Wednesday. Arias was stoic in court Wednesday. Her eyes briefly welled up with tears as the verdict was announced. In the next phase of the case, prosecutors will have a chance to present additional evidence and jurors will decide whether Alexander's death was caused in a cruel manner.
