| Check out #TylerTheCreator's 'RACIST' #MountainDew spot that has #Pepsi in HOT WATER!? [video] Posted: 02 May 2013 08:27 PM PDT  Is this REALLY the most RACIST commercial in HISTORY? I've seen a whole LOT MORE RACIST stuff on TV and this is not it... Pepsi however, immediately pulled the 60-second spot after learning that people found it was offensive. The ad was part of a series developed by African-American rapper Tyler, The Creator, and depicted a battered white woman on crutches being urged to identify a suspect out of a lineup of black men. A goat character known as Felicia is included in the lineup and makes threatening comments to the woman, such as "Ya better not snitch on a playa" and "Keep ya mouth shut." The woman eventually screams "I can't do this, no no no!" and runs away. The word "do" is in apparent reference to the soft drink's "Dew It" slogan. Mountain Dew, known for its neon color and high caffeine content, is generally marketed to younger men and sometimes attempts to have edgier ads. But the controversy over its latest spot illustrates the fine line that companies must walk when trying to be hip. Get more on this....  In fact, Mountain Dew also was criticized recently because of its endorsement deal with Lil Wayne, whose rap lyrics compared a rough sex act to the tortuous death of Emmett Till, a black teen who was murdered in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman. Laura Ries, president of Ries & Ries, a marketing firm based in Atlanta, said companies that want the "street cred" of a celebrity may end up losing control of the message they want to convey. PepsiCo Inc., based in Purchase, N.Y., said it understood how the ad could be offensive. "We apologize for this video and take full responsibility," the company said in an updated statement late this afternoon. "We have removed it from all Mountain Dew channels and Tyler is removing it from his channels as well." Now, Tyler's manager has responded to Mountain Dew taking down the commercials, and Tyler himself has also responded on Twitter. Tyler says what many have been saying in defense of the rapper/director-- that the ad in question was taken out of context. Tyler tweeted in all-caps, "IDIOTS THE LADY IN THE NEW MOUNTAIN DEW COMMERCIAL IS THE WAITRESS THAT GOT ATTACK RETARD." The Odd Future rapper then tweeted directly at Dr. Boyce Watkins, the social commentator who called Tyler's commercial "arguably the most racist commercial in history."  - let's make it happen. My daughters love your music, so I respect your brilliance and creativity. DM me. We'll talk I don't think the commercial was RACIST. STUPID in a funny way , but not racist. But I can see how in our hypersensitive environment how ONE may deem it OFFENSIVE. It's funny how our society is always going out of their way to not APPEAR offensive when we are one of the MOST offensive societies in the Western world. The DRAMA is SUPPOSED to be onstage, but the antics and catfights between the JUDGES has warn me OUT. I don't really follow the show like I once did because it has gotten really WATERED DOWN in comparison to 'The Voice' what is even more tiring is the antics of the two FEMALE judges, Nicki & Mariah. From the of-camera back-biting to their on-camera subtle JABS at each other, it's just HARD TO WATCH anymore. And last night was not DIFFERENT. As Mariah was giving one of her BORING, 'critiques', Nicki interjects than that CLAWS COME OUT! Mariah REMINDS Nicki who the REAL CHART Topper on the panel REALLY is. TAKE A LOOK! Gucci, real name, Radric Davis was just released from an Atlanta jail where he has been held for the past 3 weeks, stemming from an altercation in an ATL nightclub back in March. Davis is set to be back in court later this month, but for now he is FREE. Let's see just how long he stays out this time. TMZ has a brief radio interview that Kelly gave to ATL's ' Streetz Morning Grind' radio show where he HINTS at drug use, or 'partying' on the air! The dj on the call is a close personal friend Of Kelly's and even says that he needed to 'talk to' Kelly about his 'partying ways' off air.
