| Another 'Law & Order' #SVU Cast Shake-up! Guess who's LEAVING NOW!!? [details] Posted: 10 Dec 2013 01:23 PM PST  Missing some of yout FAVORITE Cast Memebers from NBC's POPULAR 'Law & Order SVU'? Well another PRINCIPAL character is leaving before season's end!! Guess who's OUT this time!!! Dann Florek—that's Captain Donald Cragen to Law & Order: SVU fans—will depart the series later this season. The exit comes weeks after Richard Belzer left the long-running NBC series.  "Friday was the last day 4 Cragen/Florek. It was a sweet send off! But he'll live on in syndication land 4 evah!" Florek tweeted on Dec. 9. Florek has been with SVU for the show's entire 15 season run. He also appeared as Captain Cragen on mothership Law & Order from 1990-1993. Florek isn't leaving because a bitter co-star feud, his exit is because SVU is trying to remain realistic. "In the real world, which we try to very hard to simulate, NYPD has mandatory retirement before your 63rd birthday. And we were trying to figure out how to deal with it," Leight told Zap2It when Belzer left the show. "The reason NYPD does it is because you can't have 65-year-old guys running after guys. [video] Posted: 10 Dec 2013 10:50 AM PST  I know it was early this a.m. that the MEMORIAL SERVICE for the GREAT Nelson Mandela was televised, but it indeed was a CELEBRATION of the LIFE and LEGACY of a GREAT MAN and an EVENT you did not want to MISS! UNDER heavy skies but with spirits soaring, thousands of people converged on Soweto to say an ecstatic and emotional farewell to the man ranked as the greatest cultural icon in modern history, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. Free world and communist leaders shared a podium to acknowledge the legacy of reconciliation that Nelson Mandela gifted to South Africa and the world.  As Mandela's huge family took their seats, the crowd welcomed them, singing: "Mandela, you're my president."  When US President Barack Obama took to the podium, the WELCOME he recieved was an OUTRIGHT RUPTURE of SOUND, FURY and EMOTION! The APPLAUSE was ASTOUNDING! President Obama thanked South Africa for sharing Mandela with the world, and said the politician had taught us the power of action, but also the importance of ideas and reason. "It is hard to eulogise any man ... how much harder to do so for a giant of history, who moved a nation towards justice,'' Mr Obama told the crowd and a worldwide TV and internet audience. www.thegamutt.com  |
