[video] Posted: 26 Jun 2013 10:58 PM PDT   Hernandez is accused in last week's shooting death of Odin Lloyd, whose body was found in an industrial park area less than a mile from Hernandez's home. Hernandez "drove the victim to the remote spot, and then he orchestrated his execution," First Assistant District Attorney Bill McCauley said in court Wednesday.  "He orchestrated the crime from the beginning, he took steps to conceal and destroy evidence and he took steps to prevent the police from speaking to ... an important witness," the prosecutor said. A judge ordered that Hernandez be held without bail. Defense attorney Michael Fee had said that the evidence is circumstantial and that bail should be granted so that Hernandez can return home to spend time with his fiancee and 8-month-old child. "It is a circumstantial case. It is not a strong case," Fee said, arguing that Hernandez was not a flight risk and had cooperated with authorities. Hernandez's next court date, for a probable cause hearing, is scheduled for July 24. That's when the state would have to prove it has enough evidence to move forward. But it's possible that Hernandez will be indicted before then, in which case a probable cause hearing would be unnecessary. (source)  |

Get the DETAILS after the JUMP!  Will.i.am is taking legal action against Pharrell Williams over the latter's new creative brand "i am OTHER" – claiming that he owns the copyright to the phrase "I AM" and that Pharrell's logo is "confusingly similar," according to official court documents obtained by Rolling Stone. In his notice of opposition, Will.i.am argues that Pharrell would be using his "i am OTHER" brand on clothing and other items in a manner similar to the goods that bear his own "I AM" logo. "The registration of the mark . . . is likely to dilute the I AM mark and the WILL.I.AM mark," the document reads. Lawyers for Pharrell and "i am OTHER" filed an answer to Will.i.am's notice of opposition, denying all such claims. "I am disappointed that Will, a fellow artist, would file a case against me," Pharrell says in a statement to RS. "I am someone who likes to talk things out and, in fact, I attempted to do just that on many occasions. I am surprised in how this is being handled and I am confident that Will's trademark claims will ultimately be found to be as meritless and ridiculous as I do." | #Pray #NelsonMandela has been put on LIFE SUPPORT! [details] Posted: 26 Jun 2013 04:30 PM PDT Nelson Mandela's condition has worsened. CNN reports that Mandela has been placed on LIFE SUPPORT!  According to Sky News' chief correspondent in South Africa, multiple sources confirmed that Mandela is no longer able to breathe unassisted. He has been undergoing treatment, including renal dialysis, at the Mediclinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria since June 8. According to Reuters, South African President Jacob Zuma was scheduled to travel to Mozambique on Thursday -- that trip has now been canceled. In an interview with CNN Tuesday, Mandela's daughter Makaziwe, the sole surviving child from his first marriage to the late Evelyn Mandela, said the family was enjoying "quality and sacred moments" with her father.  "All I pray for as a daughter is that the transition is smooth. He is at peace with himself. He has given so much to the world. I believe he is at peace," Makaziwe said. (source) www.thegamutt.com  |

(Graphic Content) Posted: 26 Jun 2013 03:58 PM PDT  Prosecutors in the George Zimmerman murder trial showed disturbing photos of Trayvon Martin's dead body to the jury today. As Fox News reported earlier, the photos, along with graphic testimony from the responding officer about delivering CPR to Martin, caused Martin's father to get up and leave the courtroom. Sgt. Anthony E. Raimondo, who works for the Sanford Police Department, testified he was one of the first officers to respond to Martin's shooting on the night of Feb. 26, 2012. Raimondo said Martin was face-down and unresponsive. He said he turned the teen over and began to give him CPR but heard air escaping "in a manner that it was not supposed to." The police officer said he determined the air was escaping from the gunshot wound to Martin's chest. He continued in his attempts to resuscitate the teen until paramedics arrived and pronounced Martin dead. See the GRAPHIC PHOTOS after the JUMP!!
