That was quick--meaning they were EYEING her for somtime now. OUCH, Brook! Erin Andrews has confirmed she's the new co-host of "Dancing with the Stars," replacing the recently-ousted Brooke Burke Charvet. It'll be a homecoming of sorts for the sports reporter, who competed on season 10 with pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  "'Dancing' has always been a family. I call it the 'Dancing with the Stars' mafia. Once you're in that mafia, you're always in. It's always so much of your life. I'm just excited to be coming home," she told People on Monday."I feel great," she added. "I was texting with Maksim, my old partner. He was saying, 'Wow, it's coming full circle for you.'" She also acknowledged she'll have "huge shoes to fill" in taking Burke-Charvet's place. "I'm a fan of Brooke. She was very wonderful toward me in my season," Andrews said. "She was so caring and so fantastic. I can only hope I can emulate somebody like that and use her for guidance." Posted: 25 Feb 2014 02:31 PM PST   March 4th will mark the OFFICIAL Announcement of season 18 of ABC's venerable 'hit' 'Dancing with the Stars. But CAST RUMORS are already SWIRLING! Could 'RHOA' 'QUEEN B' NeNe Leakes and 'Kardashian's Bruce Jenner be headed to the BALLROOM!! GET THE SCOOP here! The Dancing With the Stars rumor mill has been fairly quiet lately, but it's heating up now. It all started with Bruce Jenner buzz. Reports that he would follow in Kim and Rob Kardashian's footsteps for a ballroom spin surfaced last month. (You know that tune-in factor would be high.) And now, just days ahead of the March 4 official announcement on Good Morning America, more names are floating around as likely candidates for the Season 18 cast. Of course, ABC won't comment on any of them. E! reports that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes and Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure have been invited to the ball(room). Hollywood Life lists more suspects: • Sharon Osbourne, who would be following kids Kelly and Jack Obsourne to the show. • Cody Simpson, 17, teen pop singer who has some moves. • Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis, who has shown all season that he loves to dance. And it worked well for previous Bachelor Sean Lowe to keep the reality spotlight on him until his televised wedding. • Carla Hall, co-host on The Chew. She can cook, but can she dance? • Tim Tebow, because you have to figure he's a candidate for anything these days. • Stuart Scott, ESPN analyst, who's been battling a rare form of cancer since 2007. The show loves inspirational stories, as shown by Valerie Harper's valiant efforts last season. And viewers love them, too. • Ray Lewis, retired Baltimore Raven. There's always a sports figure in the mix. Would he and Tebow go toe-to-toe? Most of these are GOOD CHOICES... The show needs a well PLACED 'SHOT in the ARM' for real. We will see how this plays out!
