| #GOP LAWMAKER #DonYoung calls Hispanics 'WETBACKS'! Apologizes! [details] Posted: 29 Mar 2013 09:00 PM PDT  During a discussion about ongoing challenges to the economy Thursday, Alaska Republican Rep. Don Young referred to Hispanic workers as "wetbacks," an ethnic slur used to describe migrant workers. Get the DETAILS after the JUMP!! He has since apologized.  "My father had a ranch; we used to have 50-60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes," Young told Alaska public radio station KRBD. "It takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now. It's all done by machine." The term "wetback" is a pejorative term that has been used to describe workers from Latin American countries who swim across the Rio Grande to reach the United States. Young's comments come just weeks after the Republican National Committee called for candidates and lawmakers to soften their tone when discussing Hispanic Americans and immigrants in an effort to engage Latino voters after getting only 30 percent of their vote in the 2012 presidential election. Republicans are currently working with Democrats in Congress to shape a comprehensive overhaul of the nation's immigration system, and comments like Young's could serve as a distraction from those bipartisan efforts. After a public outcry over his remarks, Young formally apologized in a written statement Friday afternoon. "I apologize for the insensitive term I used during an interview in Ketchikan, Alaska," Young said. "There was no malice in my heart or intent to offend; it was a poor choice of words. That word, and the negative attitudes that come with it, should be left in the 20th century, and I'm sorry that this has shifted our focus away from comprehensive immigration reform."  Before he issued his apology, several prominent Republicans rushed to condemn Young's usage of the word, including House Speaker John Boehner. "Congressman Young's remarks were offensive and beneath the dignity of the office he holds," Boehner said in a written statement. | #LilWayne REVEALS he has EPILEPSY!!! [audio] Posted: 29 Mar 2013 09:50 AM PDT In what may come as a SHOCK to most, Lil' Wayne has revealed that he indeed has EPILEPSY.  For those not familiar with the disorder, let me give you a MEDICAL MINUTE, so YOU will be in the KNOW!  Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures affecting a variety of mental and physical functions. It's also called a seizure disorder. When a person has two or more unprovoked seizures, they are considered to have epilepsy. A seizure happens when a brief, strong surge of electrical activity affects part or all of the brain. One in 10 adults will have a seizure sometime during their life.  In an interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles, Wayne reveals that he indeed is epileptic and he has been for some time now. "The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures. Like, this isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. Certain times I don't even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because, like I said, it was three in a row, and I've never had three back to back like that."
