We haven't finished with the R&B Divas of ATL, but the wind is turning and the DIVAS of L.A. are ready to SWOOP in for their RETURN--with two new divas---Leelah James and GUESS WHO?


Chrisette Michelle!!!  Who knew she had roots in L.A. but I guess she does now.  So of course Lil' Mo, Claudette Ortiz, Chante Moore and Michel'e are all back.  But out went Kelly Price and her cowardly henchman, Dawn.  GOOD RIDDANCE.....

This season will not DISAPPOINT!  With the WICKED BITCH of the WEST gone, it will be interesting to see who will RISE UP to be the BAD 'GUY' in Kelly's ABSENCE... We'll see.... Will it be Mo or Moore?  Hmmm.. Check the trailer and you MAY just get an IDEA!



It's going to be a HOT SUMMER.....

#DestinysChild 'REUNITES for #MichelleWilliams' 'Say Yes' video! [details]

Real fans of the RECORD-BREAKING, pop trio, 'Destiny's Child' have probably already gained wind of a 'REUNION' of sorts that happened recently.  Michelle Williams enlisted her fellow sisters in song on her inspirational new single, 'Say Yes'.  

The song leaked early, letting the cat out of the bag that the ladies were indeed back together...at least for this song!

So of course with a WINNING COMBINATION like this, there HAS to be a video, right?  The ladies recently shot the visual and from the looks of things, they ae still as close and cohesive as they were on 'Destiny Fulfilled'.



"We heard all this commotion going on while we were filming," Williams told The Hollywood Reporter. "We filmed at somebody's house and they probably got excited and called their cousins and friends and, next thing you know, the whole town was on one street...I woke up to the news of the song being leaked and I just hate when that happens because it was an unmastered version. At the same time, I was overwhelmed by the support. I know things happen for a reason. I don't want anyone to think I'm pissed. I'm not."
Williams says Beyoncé and Rowland loved "Say Yes" so much when they first heard it, it was easy to get them on board for the collaboration.

"They received an advance copy of the album and called saying, 'We love "When Jesus Says Yes"...there has to be a Destiny's Child mix of the song,'" Williams dished. "Kelly did it and Beyoncé got right in the studio and did her part. I kept it a secret because I didn't want anyone to know until it was time."
"It was so much fun," Williams added. "It was like we were little kids again. I have their back and they have mine. They have showed themselves to be loyal to me time after time. They have proven they are my sisters time and time again."

#MariahCarey's 'Elusive' FLOPS miserably! Lowest MC opening since SoundScan's inception in 1991!

What happened!?


There must have been a 'SILENCE of the LAMBS' when it came to Mariah Carey's fanbase copping her new disc!  MC's 'Elusive' project managed to crack the top 5 bowing at a #3 entry, but the sales are DEFINITELY not the caliber of sales of an artist of her stature.  Mariah's 'Elusive' managed to move only 58K units in the 1st WEEK! OUCH!


No need to MINCE words here, Mariah's latest effort can be deemed a FLOP by comparison. Sorry 'Lambs' for the harsh reality, but you should have bought the disc and we would not be having this conversation now.



Mariah Carey collects her 17th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart as "Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse" enters at No. 3 with 58,000 sold in the week ending June 1 (according to Nielsen SoundScan). Her last non-holiday studio effort, 2009's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," also debuted at No. 3, but with 168,000.

The debut of "Elusive" is Carey's smallest opening for a non-holiday studio effort since SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991. Her previous low came when 1991's "Emotions" launched at No. 4 with 156,000. Carey has tallied six No. 1 albums between 1991 and 2008.

"Chanteuse" was released on May 27 by Def Jam Records -- nearly five years after her last non-holiday studio album, 2009's "Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel." Notably, this is her longest gap between studio projects.

"Chanteuse" was tentatively earmarked for a release in March 2013, but was then pushed to July 23, then to May 6, 2014 and finally May 27. The promotion for the new set arguably started in August 2012 with the release of the single "Triumphant (Get 'Em)," a song which does not appear on "Chanteuse." The new album's most recently charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 was "You're Mine (Eternal)," which spent one week on the list, peaking at No. 88 (on the March 1-dated chart).

The set previously logged a No. 15 hit with "#Beautiful," featuring Miguel," in June 2013. Comparably, the "Memoirs" album launched with the No. 7-peaking single "Obsessed." (Carey holds the mark for the most Hot 100 No. 1s, 18, among soloists. Among all acts, only the Beatles, with 20, have more.)

Between "Triumphant" and "You're Mine (Eternal)," Carey released a few other singles with varying results.

In early 2013, she bowed the track "Almost Home" from the film "Oz the Great and Powerful." It reached No. 20 on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart, and does not appear on "The Elusive Chanteuse." After that, "#Beautiful" became a significant hit, reaching No. 15 on the Hot 100 and No. 3 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Then, in November of last year, Carey issued the song "The Art of Letting Go," which missed the Hot 100, but did reach No. 46 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Maybe Mariah needs to practice the art of letting go and do something else. What is the problem here? MC still can sing like no other, the material is good. SO WHY are we not digging the singles. Grant it I was never a fan of 'Triumphant'. It sounded like an MMG song with a cameo from Mariah as opposed to a full-fledged Mariah track. 'The Art of Letting Go' i just wasn't buying it because it was too slow, and never really took off. MC played it very safe with that one. You can see how it miss the Hot 100 charts completely. I REALLY thought MC had gotten her stride with 'You're Mine' and tapping the 'IT R&B' crooner for the remix was a good touch. But that wasn't enough to garner much steam going into the album release, which changed titles mid-stream. So if the talent is still there and the songs are good, why are we not feeling MC?


Could her short tenure on 'American Idol' be a reason for a SOUR TASTE in our mouths for the 'Chanteuse'?? Before, MC was a pedestal that could not be touched. But once she appeared on 'Idol' she became 'accessible'--maybe TOO ACCESSIBLE. We like our gems tucked away somewhere where we know they are there, and we pull them out and admire them from time to time, but we don;t wear them everyday. Being on 'Idol', we were 'wearing' her nightly, and maybe we got TIRED of her presence. And the constant squabbles with fellow judge and past collaborator Nicki Minaj did not help her image. MC came off SNOBBY and ELITE, which is not good characteristics when trying to win over a new generation of listeners. But at any rate, I have the disc, and its actually SOLID. There are many more potential single choices so, maybe 'Elusive' can rise from the ashes.

Word from the curb is that Romeo will be STARRING in a 'Magic Mike--esque 'URBAN' stripper movie!
The rapper and actor will play a young college student who takes a job as an exotic dancer to earn some extra money, Deadline reported

Newcomer Eurika Pratts will play his girlfriend, and the film sees their relationship put to the test by his risque work.

Michael Jai White and Tyson Beckford are already signed up to play the club owner and former star performer who lure Romeo's character into the world of male stripping.

The indie project comes  from writer-director Jean Claude LaMarre.  This should be INTERESTING!  Romeo's LEGION of FEMALE FRIENDS will FLOCK to this film, I'm sure.
