"The Voice of New York", Angie Martinez announced her resignation from Hot 97.5 yesterday! Angie said: DETAILS after the JUMP Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever. This was one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future. Thank you HOT97 and most importantly….the listeners… for an unimaginable journey. Today will be my last show ❤️ stay tuned…. Love, angie The FANS and her co-workers have all been wishing her well in her next chapter, since her announcment. Hot 97, which is owned by Emmis Communications, was turned into New York's first hip-hop station in 1993 by a newly hired program director, Steve Smith. During the transition, Martinez was the 18-year-old assistant to the station's general manager, Judy Ellis, who decided, along with Smith, that Angie — Puerto Rican, with a Brooklyn accent — was a better voice than any radio vet for the young, white, black, Latino, and Asian New York audience they wanted to build, so they put her on the air as an overnight host. "I was the girl that was dressed like TLC. There weren't many people like me in the building. So they're like, So what do you wanna do? I was like, in heaven," she told BuzzFeed in April. | #Apple unveils it's CHEAPEST #iMac ever..but there is a CATCH... [details] Posted: 18 Jun 2014 01:24 PM PDT  Apple just unveiled it's CHEAPEST line of iMacs to date. But there is a little CATCH! Get the DETAILS on the latest products! Apple's iconic desktop computer has just gotten cheaper. The entry-level iMac is now available for $1099 down from $1290. With the reduction in price also comes a slower processor. The new base model sports a 1.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor. The previous base model, now the mid-range model, sports a 2.7GHz processor. Apple quietly rolled out these changes on Wednesday, June 18 calling the new iMac the most affordable all-in-one desktop. So of course with a PRICE BREAK, there HAD to be a reduction on the speed. The new 21.5-inch iMac also comes with an integrated Intel HD 5000 graphics card, 8GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive. iLife and iWork suites are also bundled for free. With news that the oft-delayed Aaliyah biopic was in the beginning stages of production, it appears that the family of the late great pop star are now UPSET about the whole project! Find out WHY after the JUMP! Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah's uncle and former manager says that the network never contacted the family about the movie. Hankerson says the family will block any attempt on Lifetime's part to use any of Aaliyah's music. He says the family has hired a lawyer and will do everything they can to block release of the flick.
