| Remembering #BobbyWomack.. DEAD at 70 [details] Posted: 28 Jun 2014 08:28 AM PDT  SAD NEWS SOUL MUSIC ICON Bobby Womack has PASSED AWAY at the age of 70! Bobby Womack, the legendary soul singer whose career spanned seven decades, died Friday at age 70. A representative for Womack's label XL Recordings confirmed the singer's death to Rolling Stone, but said the cause of death was currently unknown. The son of two musicians, Womack began his career as a member of Curtis Womack and the Womack Brothers with his siblings Curtis, Harry, Cecil and Friendly Jr. After Sam Cooke signed the group to his SAR Records in 1960, they released a handful of gospel singles before changing their name to the Valentinos and earning success with a more secular, soul- and pop-influenced sound. In 1964, one month after the Valentinos released their hit "It's All Over Now," the Rolling Stones put out their version, which went to Number One on the U.K. singles charts. Three months after the death of Cooke in 1964, Womack married Cooke's widow, Barbara Campbell, and the Valentinos disbanded after the collapse of SAR Records. After leaving the group, Womack became a session musician, playing guitar on several albums, including Aretha Franklin's landmark Lady Soul, before releasing his debut album, Fly Me to the Moon, in 1968. A string of successful R&B albums would follow, including Understanding and Across 110th Street, both released in 1972, 1973's Facts of Life and 1974's Lookin for a Love Again. CLICK HERE for VIDEO! After the death of his brother, Harry, in 1974, Womack's career stalled, but was revived in 1981 with the R&B hit "If You Think You're Lonely Now." Throughout most of the Eighties, the singer struggled with drug addiction, eventually checking himself into a rehabilitation center for treatment. A series of health problems would follow, including diabetes, pneumonia, colon cancer and the early signs of Alzheimer's disease, though it was unclear if any of these ailments contributed to his death. Remember when Benzino of ;Love and Hip Hop Atl' fame made the 'video' 'Smashed Da Homie' with a Joseline Hernandez LOOK A-LIKE? Well it seems Stevie J needs to do the REMIX now featuring Althea or as she is AFFECTIONATELY known as 'HOthea'. NOT MY WORDS, that's what they told me? *Pick up on that reference* Anyways. THE 'iPhone' shot video cause a bit of an UPROAR on the 1st season of LHHATL, and now it appears that it applies to Benzino's OWN LADY, who will find out, she SLEPT with Stevie J...in the PAST! It appears the THICK as 'THIEVES' buddies Benzino and Stevie J are going through a bit of a ROUGH PATCH again, and Joseline is SMACK DAB in the middle of it. You may remember this is not the 1st time the two buddies have fallen out over Joseline. Well let's set the stage here. Joseline made some CHOICE comments about Benzino's 'lady' Althea after news broke that she SLEPT with Stevie J in the past. Benzino did not take too kindly to her comments and took to IG to address HER! Stevie J of course CLAPPED BACK in defense of his woman and an all out SOCIAL MEDIA WAR has begun! Get the SALACIOUS details after the JUMP! SOOOOOOOOOOO, let's sift through the DRAMA here, shall we? Stevie J's wife, Joseline Hernandez suspects that Benzino's fiancé, Althea Heart, has slept with Stevie in the past. On the last episode of "LHHATL," viewers see Joseline's suspicions were right. And Joseline is less than thrilled. Joseline made threats on Benzino's woman and that's where he drew the line. The rapper took to Instagram account to post a mugshot of Joseline with a caption littered with insults that has since been deleted. He wrote:  Can someone please tell me why this animal keeps threatening my girl on TV? She went from a stripper to a streetwalking prostitute to a escort and now a reality star, Althea has never once said anything bad about her, but trust the GREENSCREEN GANGSTA wint [sic] lay a finger on her. I can take the jokes and insults but when she keeps talkin bout violence is where I draw the line, she need to go get get GED and uplift herself cause her music is lacking. I feel sorry for Sleazo violence will not be tolerated.Now see, THIS IS WHERE HE FUCKED UP. We all know Joseline has a MOUTH that won't QUIT. If he FELT some kinda way about her comments, he should have addressed it with his FRIEND--not his WIFE. This is how FEATHERS get RUFFLED! Stevie J went took to Twitter to give a cryptic message to Benzino to STAY OUT OF FEMALE BATTLES. Which is somewhat the correct way to handle it. But his delivery was less than 'smooth': "Kids, teenagers and grown ups: if you have an issue call the person don't take to social media. #bitchassness," Stevie tweeted. When a tweeter told him to "check his b*tch first" Stevie responded, "Let hoes handle hoe biz this is show biz lol!" Granted his choice of wording is less than stellar, but we get the idea, right?  Benzino responded via Instagram with a picture of a pimp that read, "Only pimps let their hoes fight." So all these 'HOES' & 'Bitches' being thrown around it only makes SENSE that a few feelings were caught in the RAPTURE, right? But this is SHOW BUSINESS! This is not and WILL not be the LAST TIME these two come to 'blows' over their women. And again, I look at this from a DIFFERENT eye. THIS IS SHOW BUSINESS. This type of 'BEEF' is GREAT for RATINGS! I wouldn't be surprised if this is just an ELABORATE media DRAW to hype up Monday's episode where all is REVEALED about Althea and her past with Stevie J! Will you be watching?
