Frank Ocean, although quiet as far as CELEBRITY goes, has been making A LOT of NOISE in the INDUSTRY lately.  'Channel Orange' his latest release is up for 6 Grammy's and has been called "one of the most meticulously constructed records of 2012."

Before "Channel Orange" was released in July, Ocean was something of a sleeper in the hip-hop and R.&B. worlds. Some people had heard the free mixtape, "Nostalgia, Ultra," that he released online in 2011, or they knew of him through his affiliation with Odd Future, a loosely connected and somewhat anarchic group of rappers in Los Angeles that Ocean joined in 2010.

Frank Ocean covers The NY Times and goes in on his success and other HOT TOPICS-- WE ALL KNOW WHAT THEY ASKED HIM ABOUT....

Skin is NOT in at this year's #Grammys! #CBS tells celebs: COVER IT UP!

Posted: 07 Feb 2013 10:10 PM PST

If you plan on tuning into this year's Grammy broadcast to see which celebrities will push the fashion envelope with daring and revealing attire, you will be terribly disappointed. The CBS network has enforced a strict dress code this year which prohibits performers and presenters from showing any bare skin, breasts, or buttocks. Read the e-mail to find out what's OUT this year AFTER THE JUMP...

CBS is not taking any chances this year on nip-slips or "wardrobe malfunctions". The network has been trying to play it safe ever since it was threatened to be fined by the FCC over Janet Jackson's 2004 Super Bowl halftime "mishap". To ensure that  nothing goes awry, the network sent out this e-mail earlier this week:

"CBS Program Practices advises that all talent appearing on camera please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe.
Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack.
Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure. Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts.
Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST.
This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera. Finally, The Network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent's wardrobe be avoided. This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory."
I guess that means you won't be seeing any of these unforgettable garbs this year:

The recently enforced strict dress code has sent some celebs who had intended on literally "showing their ass" scrambling back to the drawing board to re-evaluate their attire. You know Rihanna is probably SICK right about now! LOL. Guess we'll have to tune in on Sunday night to see how some of these stars try their damndest to be conservative. The red carpet looks to be rather DRY this year!

#TBT- Throwback Thursday- 90's 'UNSUNG' R&B Males via #MichaelSpeaks, #SamSalter, #ProphetJones, #Rome & MORE! [videos]

Posted: 07 Feb 2013 02:24 PM PST

You know how I do every THURSDAY!!!  Well most Thursdays!!!

I feel like going back --way back..back into time.  Well maybe not that far back.  The posts today will spotlight some of my favorite throwback jams.  Back when the economy was good and music was even better!

LET'S GO!!

THROWBACK THURSDAY is OFFICIALLY ON DECK!!!!!!

Stay tuned!

LET's GO BACK TO 'Long Lost R&B MALE Singers'!!!

Michael Speaks, originally from Charlotte North Carolina, had an impressive multi-octave voice. Speaks released his first album No Equal in 1995, and a second album, Praise At Your Own Risk in 2000. He has worked with Adina Howard, Sa-Deuce, Trinity-5-7, and Mary Mary during the 1990s and 2000s.

Michael Speaks-'Whatever you need

In 1997, Salter had his chance in music when his demo tape found its way into the hands of L.A. Reid of LaFace Records. He quickly signed Salter, and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds began to work on his debut album, It's On Tonight. The album didn't become a huge hit, yet it yielded two hit R&B singles, the Top 20 single "After 12, Before 6" and the Top 40 ballad "There You Are."

In 2000, Little Black Book, Salter's second album for LaFace Records was expected to be released, yet label shuffling and problems led to the album's shelving. It yielded one single, "Once My Shit (Always My Shit)". An album track from the LP, "Color Of Love", written by Babyface, was later given to Boyz II Men for their first Arista release, Full Circle and it became the lead single. Additionally, a track that was only available on the album sampler (not the advance version) titled "Homewrecker" was later given to Sisqó, and included his Return of Dragon LP. (Sisqó's 2000 hit Incomplete was also originally recorded - but unreleased - by Salter). Damn, seems like Sam got the shaft--twice!

Sam salter-'After 12 before 6'

Marc Nelson-'15 minutes'

Uncle Sam- 'I don't ever want to see you again

#WhitneyHouston gets WAXED!! Singer immortalized with 4 wax figures!! Sets RECORD! [details]

Posted: 07 Feb 2013 12:14 PM PST

It's hard to believe that February 11 will mark one year since we lost our beloved Whitney, and in the past year we've had to suffer through many lackluster tribute shows and performances in an attempt to commemorate her legacy. Finally though, Whitney Houston gets immortalized in a respectable way. Madame Tussauds wax museum, which has gained a well-respected reputation over the past 200 years for representing entertainers with almost eerily human-like wax figures, has decided to honor the singer with not one, but an unprecedented FOUR new figures!!

See what RECORD the incomparable Whitney Houston has set...after the JUMP!!!

Whitney Houston is the 1st celebrity to be HONORED with 4 figures at once!  This has never before been done in he history of the museum, but each figure represents the icon in an important era from her career. There's the "Super Bowl" Whitney figure, the "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" Whitney figure, the "Bodyguard" Whitney figure, and the "I Look To You" Whitney figure. The first of the four figures will be unveiled today at the museum's New York location, while the others will be displayed at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, Las Vegas, and Washington, DC.

#MichelleWilliams takes the high road in response to #KeyshiaCole diss!

Posted: 07 Feb 2013 11:21 AM PST

Sometimes when you're dealing with hood ratchetness, it's best to keep it classy and take the high road. At least this seems to be the philosophy that Michelle Williams lives by. Michelle hasn't had much to say about Keyshia Cole's unflattering remarks on her performance in Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show this past Sunday and has pretty much let Destiny's Child's fans fight her battle in defense of her. Until now. Michelle took to her Facebook page today to shut down all naysayers, but of course she did it the "Christian" way, not naming names and taking subtle jabs. See what she had to say AFTER THE JUMP...

Michelle posted:

It was an honor to share the stage with my sisters Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé on Sunday night. To all my ladies, we must learn to stick together and support each other. The incredible Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job too! Thank you to my sister Beyonce for sharing your moment with Destiny's Child. Love you!
I doubt that Keyshia will respond or even care. She's too busy trying to find ways to stay relevant promote her new album. But I'm glad to see that Michelle finally spoke out. Even if it wasn't as aggressively as some may have desired. So, sorry Keyshia. If you were trying to pick a fight, Michelle ain't havin' it. Mary J. said call her though... she definitely got somethin' fo' dat azz.... LOL

#BlackHistoryMonth 2013- Who PERFECTED the modern-day ELEVATOR!?? [details]

Posted: 06 Feb 2013 11:49 PM PST

Black History Month brings out little known facts that go unnoticed at times.  Point in case is who invented the modern day elevator.  History will tell you that Elisha Otis invented the elevator but if we delve deeper we will find that Alexander Miles -An AFRICAN-AMERICAN inventor- invented the MODERN-DAY elevator.

Miles, who was born in Duluth, Minnesota, designed an elevator that was able to open and close its own doors and the elevator shaft doors. When the elevator would arrive or depart from a given floor, the doors would move automatically. Previously, the opening and closing of the doors of both the shaft and the elevator had to be completed manually by either the elevator operator or by passengers, contributing greatly to the hazards of operating an elevator.

Miles attached a flexible belt to the elevator cage, and when the belt came into contact with drums positioned along the elevator shaft just above and below the floors, it allowed the elevator shaft doors to operate at the appropriate times. The elevator doors themselves were automated through a series of levers and rollers.

So when this question comes up on Jeopardy, now you will know the TRUE answer.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2013

Black History is all of our history.

In honor of this great invention, let's move a little further down the timeline to another huge 'Elevator'-themed 'invention'.  This is HIP-HOP Star FLO-Rida:
