| *Update* Country Music STAR found DEAD of apparent SUICIDE, Kills DOG too! [details] Posted: 18 Feb 2013 06:57 PM PST  Sad news to report in the world of COUNTRY MUSIC. Country star, Mindy McCready was found DEAD on Sunday!!! Get the DETAILS after the JUMP!! Troubled country music star Mindy McCready was found dead Sunday of an apparent suicide ... this according to various reports. She was 37. A source close to McCready tells TMZ ... McCready shot herself and her dog. Neighbors reported hearing the two gunshots. We're told McCready had been a mess since the father of her youngest child, record producer David Wilson, was found dead in his home on January 13 of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. McCready's two children were removed from her home by a judge on February 6 and she was committed to a treatment facility for a mental-health and alcohol-abuse evaluation. She was released two days later.  McCready had attempted suicide twice before -- once in 2005 and again in 2008. She also made several trips to rehab and appeared in 2010 on the VH1 reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." *UpDATE* The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office released a statement this evening that reads: "At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. McCready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated." (source:TMZ) SAD NEWS... R.I.P. | Posted: 18 Feb 2013 11:35 AM PST  In music and most professions everybody has an off day, like singer NeYo witnessed over the weekend at the NBA All-Star Game. But an OFF FEW YEARS is something different. Although NeYo has penned and guested on some of the BIGGEST chart-toppers for the past few years, his OWN career has been , well..HIT and MISS--no pun intended. I mean 'Libra Scale' didn't necessarily set and BILLBOARD chart records...well not any GOOD ones that is. Case in point, his LACKLUSTER, pitchy performance at this weekend's NBA All-Star Game. Ne-Yo who is USUALLY a good singer just DID NOT bring it this time. The VOICE was not there--AT ALL!!! It was just BAD... If you don't believe me..LET'S RECAP, shall we.... Michael Jackson heir apparent--you are NOT. At least not with THIS PERFORMANCE. And the 7 SEAT FILLERS at the front of the stage didn't even seem too impressed. But Ne-Yo doesn't seem to CARE what WE THINK... See what he had to say about his CRITICISM after the JUMP!!! Ne-Yo took to TWITTER to let you know how HE REALLY FELT!  Wow!!! | Happy President's Day-Black History Month 2013 : #AbeLincoln and The 13th Amendment Posted: 18 Feb 2013 10:47 AM PST  In the early stages of the American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln struggled to balance the political demands of abolitionists, northern Democrats and the pro-slavery border states, each intent on destroying or maintaining the institution of slavery. Faced with this increased pressure and following a string of Union defeats, Lincoln determined the abolition of  slavery was as much a militiary imperative as a moral one. Finally, in the summer of 1862, he issued a preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, to take effect on January 1, 1863, which would free slaves in those states which remained in rebellion. With this action, Lincoln changed the purpose and tone of the war, which would now be fought as much for freedom as preservation of the Union. As the war drew to a close, Lincoln and others, realizing the Proclamation's limits as a war-time measure, began to push for a more formal end to slavery. In December, 1865, the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, permanently abolishing slavery in the United States. As long as Mary has been in the game, you would think she'd have millions. She has endorsements from Apple, she has an eyewear line, the Carols' Daughter products, a best-selling fragrance.... Demetrius also claims to have had a hand in executive producing the first couple of albums Jeezy recorded for Def Jam. It's kind of convenient now, especially that Jeezy is the vice president of A&R at Atlantic Records, that all of this is coming out. What does Jeezy have to say about all this? Well, Jeezy denies even befriending the dude and says he knows nothing about them doing any type of business together... EVER. Dayum! They say keep your friends near and you enemies nearer. She finally unveils her new single, "Stay Prayed Up," featuring Marvin Sapp. It's a lot different from what I was expecting, and I think it's gonna have to grow on me a bit. But kudos to Kandi for trying to do something inspirational.... What are your thoughts?  |
