She is TOPPING the R&B/Dance & Pop Charts and you can't pass a magazine stand or click on a BLOG and not see her! I guess DIAMONDS really are FOREVER!!!! So if you thought she was going anywhere anytime soon... sadly mistaken. Rihanna pops up on yet ANOTHER magazine cover with not one, not two but THREE different covers for Elle UK's April 2013 edition!   Rihanna was photographed in Paris by Mariano Vivanco for the spread and is shown wearing several pieces from the spring/summer 2013 collection for River Island, her new line in stores next week. Inside the issue, Rihanna is interviewed during her infamous 777 tour and for a full two days will roaming around Paris. The Heat's version opens inside the locker room with Chris "Birdman" Andersen flapping his wings around slowly as his teammates stretch. | The Gamutt CLOSES OUT #BlackHistoryMonth 2013 with #PaulRobeson [details] Posted: 28 Feb 2013 07:07 PM PST  In today's society, it is imperative that we instill in our youth that they can excel and do just about anything they set their mind's and hearts to. One does not have to confine themselves to one lane or one area of expertise. We can excel in many areas. A perfect example of this type of thinking comes in the form of Paul Robeson. Robeson was an African American concert singer (bass-baritone), recording artist, athlete and actor who became noted for his political radicalism and activism in the civil rights movement. The son of an escaped slave, Robeson was the first major concert star to popularize the performance of Negro spirituals and was the first black actor of the 20th century to portray Shakespeare's Othello alongside an all white cast.   Paul Robeson is an example of what tenacity and courage can cultivate. Robeson did not let a box confine him. He was a prolific activist, actor and athlete. This shows us that we can master and excel in many different areas of life no matter what obstacles may stand in your way.  As we close out Black History 2013, lets take the richness of the culture, the strength of the people, and mission of the forefathers to make BLACK HISTORY everybody's history. | WNBA #ChamiqueHoldsclaw hit wit CRIMINAL CHARGES! Facing 65 years if CONVICTED! [details] Posted: 28 Feb 2013 02:43 PM PST  WNBA legend Chamique Holdsclaw is facing CRIMINAL CHARGES in last year's assault on former Atlanta Dreams' Jennifer Lacy! Holdsclaw, 35, was arrested last November after allegedly assaulting her ex-girlfriend and former Atlanta Dream teammate Jennifer Lacy. According to reports, Holdsclaw smashed the windows of Lacy's car with a baseball bat and fired a gunshot into the car while Lacy was inside. No one was injured in the incident. Holdsclaw turned herself in three days after the alleged attack and was released on $100,000 bond. Holdsclaw's attorney, Ed Garland, said she plans to plead not guilty, according to USA Today. If convicted on all counts, Holdsclaw faces up to 65 years in state prison. No date for arraignment has been set yet. Holdsclaw played in the WNBA for 11 seasons and was a six-time All-Star. She played for the Sparks in 2005 and 2006, then retired after playing only five games in 2007. She returned to play for Atlanta in 2009, where she played alongside Lacy. Holdsclaw permanently retired after the 2010 season.  In an autobiography released last March, "Breaking Through: Beating the Odds Shot After Shot," Holdsclaw said that she suffered from clinical depression and had attempted suicide while playing for the Sparks in 2006. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, the family would later relocate to Watts, California. Prior to becoming "The Sylvers", the four eldest members (Olympia, Leon, Charmaine, and James) recorded as the Little Angels, appearing on variety shows such as Make Room For Daddy and You Bet Your Life, and opening for such acts as Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles. The group which at one point totaled 9 members charted with major hits like 'Boogie Fever','Misdemeanor', "Hot Line" (#5 on Billboard Hot 100) as well as "High School Dance" (#17 on Billboard Hot 100). VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI left the Vatican by helicopter on Thursday afternoon to spend the final hours of his nearly eight-year, scandal-dogged papacy at the papal summer residence. Onlookers in St. Peter's Square cheered, church bells rang and Romans stood on rooftops to wave flags as he flew from Rome to Castel Gandolfo, a hilltop town southeast of the city where popes have summered for centuries. From a gilded throne in the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace, the pope thanked the cardinals collectively, and then rose to greet each of them individually. As he stood near St. Peter's Square on Wednesday after attending the pope's last public audience, Vincenzo Petrucci, 26, said he had come to express "not so much solidarity, but more like closeness" to the pope. "At first we felt astonished, shocked and disoriented," he said. "But then we saw what a weighty decision it must have been. He seemed almost lonely." Many in the Vatican hierarchy, known as the Roman Curia, are still reeling from the news. Many are bereaved and others seem almost angry. "We are terribly, terribly, terribly shocked," one senior Vatican official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
