| CRAZY NUMBERS!! #TLC biopic #CrazySexyCool HIGHEST RATED cable movie of 2013!! [details] Posted: 22 Oct 2013 03:26 PM PDT  The NUMBERS are IN and the FANS have SPOKEN and LOUDLY I may add. VH1's 'Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story' scored as the highest rated telecast on VH1 in over five years. Monday night's 9:00 PM* premiere of the VH1 Original Movie "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" scored a 2.9 in the key P18-49 demo and brought in 4.5 million total viewers. The film also averaged a 5.5 rating in the Women 18-34 demo. "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" is the #1 cable original movie of the year among Adults and Women 18-49. The biopic is also VH1's highest rated original movie ever. OH THERE IS MORE!! The FILM TOOK OVER Twitter last night according to SocialGuide. Get the DETAILS after the JUMP!  The film dominated Twitter last night. According to SocialGuide "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" was the most tweeted show on all of TV last night with over 1.92 million tweets generated: four times greater than that of the next closest program, "Monday Night Football." In fact, 55 percent of all tweets about TV were about #CrazySexyCool. As an introduction to the new VH1 three-in-one video app, VH1 today will make the film available exclusively in the app for five days.As of 10 AM this morning, TLC's new soundtrack for the film, "20" from Epic Records, jumped from #43 to #5 on the iTunes overall chart, and jumped to #1 on the iTunes R&B chart. There is STILL POWER in that 'TLC' BRAND! I am sure that the trio's albums have seen an INCREASE on the Billboard charts as well! Let me take a LOOK and I'll get back to you! | Posted: 22 Oct 2013 02:55 PM PDT   Everybody is STILL talking about the AMAZING TLC biopic, 'Crazy Sexy Cool:The TLC Story' that aired on Vh1 last night. I personally thought it was RIVETING and well scripted. The ladies, Drew Sidora, KeKe Palmer and Lil' Mama EMBODIED what we came to know as TLC! While on the subject of 'C's, the original 'C' of the group, Crystal Jones--founding member of the group-- was BRIEFLY DISCUSSED in the drama, but her portrayal left a lot to be DESIRED! Long story short, from the movie, Crystal was DROPPED from the group from the JUMP because she COULD NOT SING! As witnessed on the show, she was REALLY TERRIBLE during her audition which opened the door for 'Chilli'! [Listen HERE for the CLIP] BUT Crystal wants to set the record straight and she did just THAT on Atlanta's V103 Ryan Cameron Morning Show! Jones spoke about what REALLY HAPPENED and also cleared up other DISCREPANCIES and details that the movie LEFT OUT! GET HER SIDE...after the jump!!via: STACKS MAG: This is what Crystal had to say:  During her radio interview, Crystal stated that her portrayal in the biopic was not 100% accurate. Her manager at that time, Ian Burke, was also in the studio to clear up some of the discrepancies about the film. Both insisted that they actually thought of the idea about creating a female 3-member group. The group was to be reminiscent of the male group B.B.D. (Bell Biv Devoe). So, it was not Pebbles creation at all as she claims. Pebbles only gained ownership of the group and its name after the girls were signed to PebbiTone. Several more interesting tidbits were revealed as well: *Ian claimed at first he did not want to put Lisa in the group. He initially rejected Lisa from the group because she wore a dress to the audition. Ian was looking for a girl in baggy clothes. But once he made Lisa rap for him, he was sold. Also, Lisa didn't like the dress either. She told him she normally wears baggy clothes. That sealed the deal. *Ian knew T-Boz was the one for the group after visiting her home at 2am. She had missed the auditions. So, he went to see her in person at her home. When she opened the front door, he immediately know she was "the one". *Ian says one pivotal part in TLC's journey that the movie didn't capture was Jermaine Dupri's involvement. JD was actually the person who had T-Boz sing in her lower register. Her tone eventually became TLC's signature sound. Burke also expressed that TLC was actually SWV's original name (Taj, Leelee, Coko) but since TLC hit the scene first, SWV could no longer use it. TLC was never supposed to be a singing group; instead a girl power "movement" of some sort. Crystal says yes she has an issue with how she was portrayed during the audition scene. She insists that she can sing actually sing. But interestingly enough, she did not showcase her 'TALENT' or lack there-of on the show. That would have been the PERFECT TIME to SILENCE the haters, but she opted out. This leads me to believe that her depiction in the movie was probably closer to accurate than she wants to believe herself. Crystal also claims Pebbles indeed gave her a contract as well. However, she didn't sign it because she wanted her mother to look over it first. *SIDE-EYE* Hmmm Why would she offer someone a CONTRACT for singing like a GOAT? But again we were not at the audion and we didn't hear Crystal sing, so that will remain a MYSTERY as well... Jones did say that she was going to write a 'tell-all' book about what REALLY happened. So this should be a good read, if indeed it ever comes out. It's been 20 years and NOW she's just getting around to writing her side of things.... HMMMM.... www.thegamutt.com  |
